About us

Saludos!

We’re Maria and Nicole, the mother-daughter team from Finca Nueva Creación in Humacao, Puerto Rico. We appreciate you taking the time to look at what we’re doing.

Finca Nueva Creación is our new regenerative agroecology farm. We are committed to regenerative farming practices and systems. Also, we’ll be seeking out collaborations that foster the agricultural, socioeconomic, and environmental well-being of Puerto Rico and its people.

My background is in public school literacy instruction, so my passion is teaching and helping others progress toward their goals. I grew up and still enjoy gardening, baking, and caring for animals. Small-scale, regenerative farming feels like a natural progression.

Nicole’s background is in customer service with a certificate in Life Coaching. Learning Latin dance and the Marimba, leisurely reading, and herbal gardening are a few of her favorite hobbies. She also enjoys finding new edible and medicinal plants for us to grow. Her passions include community service, animal rescue (we have two rescue cats), and pollinator protection. She recently completed a summer contract with AmeriCorps in Culebra. There, she worked on various community projects. Before joining me in Puerto Rico, she earned her AA degree. In January 2024, she began a BS in Agriculture Sciences through Oregon State University’s Ecampus.

We hope you’ll follow along with us as we learn how to be good stewards of this wonderful land. I hope you’ll consider supporting our efforts to build community while helping Puerto Rico increase its food security and protect its natural resources. You can do this by following us on Facebook and IG, and sharing, liking, and commenting on our posts.

Gracias,

Maria and Nicole
